How to Become a Vampire in BitLife: Update & Challenge
Knowing how to become a vampire in BitLife now means using the Vampire Expansion Pack, not only role-playing the old 2020 challenge. Your character must reach age 18; no minimum Health, Looks, Smarts, or other starting stat is required.
Quick answer: At age 18, open Activities > Premium > Vampire Mode, accept a Maker’s bite, and your character will rise with a random Vampiric Power and Blood Curse.
What the BitLife vampire update requires
The 2025 BitLife vampire update made vampirism a real game mode. It is separate from the original Vampire Challenge, which only asked a human character to act like a vampire.
| Requirement | What you need |
|---|---|
| Game content | The paid Vampire Expansion Pack (released October 2025), about US$8.99; other regions vary |
| Minimum age | 18 years old |
| Starting stats | Any level of Health, Looks, Smarts, or Happiness works |
| Menu route | Activities > Premium > Vampire Mode |
| Turning event | Accept the vampire Maker’s bite |
| Random result | One Vampiric Power, one Blood Curse, and three Lord goals are revealed after the bite |
If Vampire Mode sends you back to the shop, check that the pack is active, install the newest game update, and restore purchases. More character routes are collected in our BitLife life guides.
How to become a vampire in BitLife
The direct method takes only a few menu choices once your character is an adult. You do not need to find Romania, own a haunted home, or complete the old challenge first.

1. Activate the expansion
Open the BitLife Marketplace and confirm that the Vampire Expansion Pack is available in your game. Continue an existing human life or begin a new one.
2. Reach age 18
Age up normally until the character is 18. High Health can help later, but it does not decide whether the bite appears.
3. Let the Maker bite you
Go to Activities, scroll to Premium, and select Vampire Mode. A Maker will emerge and offer to turn you; accept the bite to die as a human and rise as a vampire. Vampires can also find you at clubs, on walks, while dating, or after you buy a vampire castle.
4. Read your vampire profile
Return to Vampire Mode and open You or Profile. The Maker’s card shows their name, age, and Blood Curse before you accept, so you know which curse you will inherit; check your Power and note all three Lord goals after turning.
Vampire powers, Essence, and weaknesses
A vampire BitLife character gets a useful Power and a limiting Blood Curse at the same time. The exact pair is random, which makes each undead life play differently.

| Mechanic | Effect | Best response |
|---|---|---|
| Vampiric Power | A permanent benefit, often keeping one or more stats at 100% | Build careers and relationships around the boosted stat |
| Blood Curse | A feeding condition or weakness linked to your Maker | Follow its preferred target rule until you complete the Lord goals |
| Essence | Your vampire strength rises when you drink blood and falls when you neglect feeding | Feed often; aging up without using your abilities makes you wither and drains Essence |
| Notoriety | More attention means more danger from vampire hunters | Rest in your coffin to reduce attention before hunting again |
| Familiar | A human helper who can bring prey and offer blood | Keep a useful Familiar human until its tasks are finished |
| Progeny | Humans you convert become vampires connected to you | Hunt with them or sever the connection when needed |
Use Hunt or ask a Familiar for prey, then drink, drain, or convert when the game offers those choices. A Blood Bank can refill Essence when normal hunts fail, while the coffin is mainly for lowering Notoriety.
Vampires can live far longer than ordinary characters, often past 200, but they are not invulnerable. Low Essence, vampire hunters, and failed violent actions can still end the life, so “immortal” should not be read as impossible to kill.
Haunted houses do not control these powers, and spirits use a separate system explained in our BitLife ghosts guide.
How to become a Vampire Lord
Complete the three random goals shown in your vampire profile to break the Blood Curse and become a Vampire Lord. The targets and amounts change between lives, so copy your own checklist instead of following one fixed set.

| Possible goal type | Example only | Efficient method |
|---|---|---|
| Drain a group | Drain 15 straight people | Hunt in broad public locations and inspect each target |
| Convert a profession | Convert 5 librarians | Use a Familiar whose workplace may supply that profession |
| Drain a trait group | Drain 10 Smarties | Ask a Familiar for that target type when the choice appears |
Matching a rare profession can take many rerolls and age-ups. Some lists take many in-game years, while an easy list can be cleared within a single year of hunting.
After the final goal, the curse is removed and Lord status is permanent for that life. Your Notoriety can jump, so use the coffin before taking more risks.
Vampire Challenge BitLife checklist
The original Vampire Challenge from 2020 is an old themed challenge, not the way to unlock modern Vampire Mode. If it is available in your challenge collection, all five boxes must be completed in one life.

God Mode in the BitLife MOD APK lets you top up Health and Happiness at any age, which takes most of the risk out of the live-to-100 task.
| Challenge task | How to complete it |
|---|---|
| Live in or emigrate to Romania | Start in Romania or move there before the final objective is checked |
| Live to age 100 | Protect Health and Happiness, treat illness, exercise, and avoid unnecessary danger |
| Own a 100+ year-old haunted house | Check Assets > Go Shopping > Real Estate each year; inspect the home’s age before buying or taking a mortgage |
| Bite 3 people | Enter fights and choose Bite when it appears; relatives or prison inmates can provide contacts |
| Impale 3 people | Use Crime > Murder and choose Impale when listed; arrest, failure, and death are possible |
Finish the age and property tasks before attempting the three impalements, because murder is the riskiest requirement. For another seasonal horror route, follow the Halloween Scavenger Hunt.
Practical vampire tips
Plan the family and feeding parts of the life before you chase high Notoriety. These habits reduce the chance of losing a long run.
- Have biological children while human; current vampire pregnancy is not reliable.
- Feed regularly and do not age up repeatedly with low Essence.
- Keep a useful Familiar human until all profession or trait targets are complete.
- Use the coffin when hunters appear often or Notoriety becomes difficult to manage.
- Delay risky attacks until every slow challenge requirement is already checked.
FAQ
Can you still become a vampire in BitLife?
Yes. The current route is the Vampire Expansion Pack: reach 18, open Activities, choose Vampire Mode in Premium, and accept the bite. The 2020 Vampire Challenge can be expired without removing Vampire Mode. If the option is missing after purchase, update BitLife and use the store’s restore-purchases option before starting another life.
Is becoming a vampire in BitLife worth it?
It is worth it if you enjoy very long lives, hunting, converting Progeny, random goals, and managing Essence against hunter risk. It adds a separate play loop rather than a normal job. Skip it if you mainly want family generations: current versions do not reliably support vampire pregnancy, and the repeated feeding cycle can feel slow.
Can I get pregnant by a vampire in BitLife?
No, not reliably. Current Vampire Mode does not usually let a vampire conceive or make a partner pregnant, and players report that children are born human rather than as vampires. Have children while human, then accept the bite after your family is secure; once a child reaches 18, you can target that adult for conversion if the option appears.
How do we turn into a vampire?
Buy and activate the Vampire Expansion Pack, age your character to 18, then go to Activities > Premium > Vampire Mode. A Maker appears and offers the bite; accept it, and the character dies and rises as a vampire. Open Vampire Mode > You or Profile afterward to see the random Vampiric Power, Blood Curse, and three Lord goals.
